GTA 6 follows a couple, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Rockstar's setup: "when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida." Gameplay footage shows you can switch between them.
Lucia Caminos
According to Rockstar, Lucia's father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk. Fighting for her family landed her in Leonida Penitentiary, and "sheer luck" got her out. She wants the good life her mom dreamed of since their days in Liberty City, and she sees a life with Jason as a possible way out.
Jason Duval
Rockstar says Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. After a stint in the Army, he ended up in the Keys working for local drug runners. He "wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder," and meeting Lucia "could be the best or worst thing to ever happen to him."
The people around them
Rockstar has introduced these supporting characters (descriptions are summarized from the official site):
- Cal Hampton: Jason's friend, a homebody who listens in on Coast Guard radio and believes a little too much of the internet.
- Brian Heder: an old-school Keys drug runner who lets Jason live rent-free at one of his properties in exchange for help.
- Boobie Ike: a Vice City legend who turned street money into real estate, a strip club and a recording studio.
- Dre'Quan Priest: Boobie's partner in Only Raw Records, chasing a hit.
- Real Dimez: rap duo Bae-Luxe and Roxy, now signed to Only Raw Records.
- Raul Bautista: a seasoned, charming bank robber always looking for new talent.
